| William Maddock, son of William Maddock (born 1824) and Julia Salter, married Mary Jane Eveleigh in MDX in 1873. They lived in both MDX and Devon and had seven children. Tragically, William died in a railway accident in Feniton in 1885, aged just 38 years, leaving Mary Jane with seven children under ten years old. In January 2007, Ross Watson, daughter Colleen Ranger and Barry Laidler found William's grave at St Mary's Church in Payhembury, Devon; one of just two Maddock headstones found there. William's headstone is next to that of his mother and five of his siblings. |
