Henry Jesse Maddock, son of James Maddock & Jane Smith was born at the 'Blue Ball' in 1831 in the village of Payhembury in Devon.
In 1850 Henry J Maddock was convicted of stealing and sentenced to 7 years gaol and transportation. He was transported to Fremantle, Western Australia aboard the 'Pyrenees' in 1853.
Henry J Maddock died in 1906 and is buried at Northam Cemetery, Western Australia. The grave plaque incorrectly states his name as Henry James instead of Henry Jesse. Henry James Maddock was his son.
